Our courses are open to medical professionals looking to start or advance their career in aesthetic medicine. Entry is based on meeting the eligibility criteria for each specific course.
For example, our Advanced Botulinum Toxin Course is only open to those who have completed foundation-level botulinum toxin training and have hands-on experience performing botulinum toxin treatments.
If you’re unsure whether you meet the entry requirements, get in touch—we’re happy to advise.
Calla Training courses are recognised by reputable aesthetic insurers, and many of our graduates have successfully obtained cover. However, eligibility for insurance depends on your professional background and the criteria set by individual insurers. It’s your responsibility to ensure you meet their requirements before practising.
Our foundation botulinum toxin and injectable dermal filler courses are designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to start working in the medical aesthetics industry immediately.
Ultimately, it’s the responsibility of our trainers to determine whether trainees have passed the course and have sufficient knowledge, skills and duty of care to perform aesthetic treatments.
Yes, Calla Training provides prescribers on the day so you can carry out your practical training with full product support. Following the Calla Training course, it’s your responsibility to have an agreed prescriber who will perform face-to-face consultations with your clients before you treat them.
Yes, we only pass trainees who meet all the course criteria. Calla Training is known for its robust standards and is seen as a quality benchmark in the industry. Therefore, every trainee must meet a high level of competence to pass the training.
We want all Calla Training graduates to go out into the aesthetics industry and continue to set the benchmark for excellence. Upon satisfactory completion of the course, you will receive a Certificate of Competence.
Calla Training will provide you with a comprehensive pack that includes everything you need to get started in the aesthetics industry. It includes information about insurance providers, private prescribers, product suppliers, clinical waste details, template consent forms and more.
Calla Training seeks to empower every trainee to perform high-level treatments and run successful aesthetic clinics. Dr Ros has created free marketing masterclasses for all trainees and Calla graduates to help you maximise your clinic’s potential. If you feel uncertain about any of the topics covered, you will always be welcomed back for further/refresher training (at a small cost). And if you have any specific questions or concerns, our trainers can be contacted on the phone or via email.
Our address is The Mews, 38 Cathedral Road, Cardiff CF11 9LJ. We’re headquartered in Cardiff, South Wales, but we train people from across the United Kingdom. Such is the reputation of our courses that many people travel from around the UK to attend. However, if you’re looking for training nearer you, we also put on courses in other UK locations to meet demand. Just email info@callatraining.com to find out when we’ll be in your area.
All trainees should arrive at 09:00 for tea/coffee and registration so the course can begin promptly at 09.30. We aim to finish at 18:00.
To avoid distracting other trainees on your course, we always ask for you to courteously check with both your trainer on the day and your fellow trainees whether they mind you filming.
We’re also happy for you to take content, share it on social media and tag us. You might also be interested in becoming part of Calla Training’s inner circle of referral partners and affiliates. If you are, please email info@callatraining.com using the subject line ‘inner circle’ to find out more.
All you need is a pen and paper or an iPad/digital notepad so you can take notes on the day if you want to. Remember, you’ll also have access to our online training portal, where you’ll find all the pre-course study videos and downloadable PDFs. You’ll be able to access that up to, during and after your face-to-face practical course so you can focus on developing your practical skills on the day.
To give yourself the best chance of passing the practical course, we want to encourage you to complete your pre-course study content first and pass our online test before booking your course date. However, if you have a preferred course date in mind, please send an email to info@callatraining.com, including your preferred dates, and we will try to reserve you a space.
Calla Training courses consist of both pre-course study theory and face-to-face practical sessions that will equip you to treat your clients safely, confidently and with predictable results.
The morning of the practical training session will consist of interactive lessons on facial anatomy, the ageing face, and how to effectively consult with your clients and build a successful clinic. The afternoon will focus on putting theory into practice with live demonstrations followed by one-to-one supervised treatments on cosmetic models. To finish off, we’ll also discuss the business side of aesthetic medicine and touch on the employment options that follow training.
We have live cosmetic models at every course and like to have a high model-to-delegate ratio so everyone can get plenty of practical hands-on experience with a real patient.
Our models pay a small charge to cover the cost of the products used in their treatment. This is currently only £120 for three areas of botulinum toxin or 1ml of filler. Find out more about our aesthetic training models.
You are also welcome to bring along one cosmetic model yourself.
Yes, you’ll receive a Calla Training Certificate of Competence once the practical session has been completed successfully.
Calla Training advises graduates of any of our foundation courses to get their insurance and start practising immediately while the training is still fresh in their minds. Most practitioners begin by treating family and friends first before offering their treatments to the wider public.
Dermal fillers can be bought at the training venue at cost price from our parent company, Rosmedics. Botulinum toxin is a prescription-only product so you cannot buy this product without a prescription.
Firstly, congratulations on graduating from Calla Training. As the benchmark for excellence in the industry, this is a major step. Next, you need to make sure you’re insured for the type of treatments you want to perform. You should then sign up with a pharmacy, such as Medfx, Aesthetica Solutions or Church Pharmacy, that can supply you with products so you can start performing treatments.
If you’re not a prescriber, that’s okay. You can still perform dermal filler treatments. However, you will need to be attached to a clinic or a prescriber to perform botulinum toxin treatments.
Once you’ve completed your Calla Training, we can help you find a provider in your area.
Upon completion of the course, you’ll be added to our Calla Training graduate community of trainers and trainees. If you’re ever unsure of anything or need advice, you can use this private Facebook group to get in touch with our trainers and your peers.
Please make sure your client has not had either the coronavirus vaccine or the virus itself three to four weeks before the treatment. They should also not have a vaccine until at least three weeks after the treatment.
