How is the course structured?

Pre-course reading materials will be made available to you before the course that break down what can be complex medical information into accessible, bite-sized chunks that are easy to understand and memorise.

We then hold the practical part of the course at one of our venues in Cardiff, which will reinforce what you’ve learned and give you the chance to do hands-on training and perform treatments on real patients. We have a maximum trainee-to-trainer ratio of just 4:1, which ensures you receive expert supervision and individualised tuition from our highly skilled trainers at all times.

Are you eligible?

The Calla Training Foundation Dermal Filler Training Course is designed for healthcare professionals looking to expand their clinical skillset into aesthetic practice. The course combines in-depth theoretical knowledge with supervised hands-on training to ensure safe, effective treatment delivery.

Minimum requirements:

Must be a qualified medic (e.g. doctor, dentist, nurse prescriber)
At least 1 year of hands-on experience with needling techniques

The Course Objectives

You’ll first gain the fundamental theoretical knowledge you need from our state-of-the-art pre-course content. You’ll then build your practical skills during our in-person training.

Provide a thorough introduction to aesthetics practice, including everything from consultation skills and the different dermal filler products to common techniques and treatments.
Understand facial anatomy, the basics of the ageing face and how dermal treatments can rejuvenate and revive.
Learn how to choose the best product, dose and injection location to achieve the desired result.
Know the various dermal filler injection techniques and when to use them.
Learn how to match patient expectations with outcomes.
Understand the importance of aftercare, the common and rare side effects and how to manage them when they occur, including reversing a treatment safely.
Learn how to inject dermal filler to perform common treatments for forehead lines, nose-to-mouth lines (nasolabial), sad lines (marionette lines) and perioral rejuvenation.
